Fairmount Waterworks
Friday when we went to Philadelphia water works I learned a lot of new things .One new thing that I learned pipes were first made out of wood and that was in the early 1800’s, and that was to distribute water thought out the whole Philadelphia area. Also Philadelphia use 450 million gallons of water in a day due to major causes such as washing up, and using the bathroom, and other things. Secondly, I found out that they build dams to help give people water and also to change direction of the water so that it can move all over. However, with them building the dams I start interacting with the fish migrating from one side of the river to another, so that’s what cause them to build a fish latter. And the fish latter is to help fishes get from one place to another because the dam was giving off to much energy and the fish couldn’t jump it. And that’s what I learned when we went to the Philadelphia water works.
