Newspaper Article Exercise

Water plays a major role for many cities. I read two articles that shows waters importance to a civilation and all of the possible benefits water has to offer. The first article i read was the one about dredging the Delaware River. It basically told me about how the city wanted to deepen the floor of the Delaware River. Digging would make the river over 40 to 45 feet deeper allowing bigger boats and ships to enter and sail along the Delaware River. Although this seems like a great idea, enviornmentalist believe that digging up the dirt on the floor of the river could pollute both the river and the land and air where ever the mud would be stored. Another article I read told me about the financial side of this project. Appearently, this project would cost a little over a $300 million dollars. Also that same article let me know that dredging of the Delaware River will stretch for almost 108 miles.
